The Position
Civil Plan Review Engineer (Associate Principal/Senior Engineer)
Example of Responsibilities:
Perform plan review duties related to private land development from project entitlement phase through completion of the construction phase on behalf of public agency clients.
Review and process civil plans for land development projects to ensure compliance with established agreements/contracts, local codes, standard specifications, and other applicable requirements.
Review grading & drainage plans and geotechnical reports.
Review plans for accessibility and National Flood Insurance Program standards.
Develop conditions of approvals for various development project entitlement applications.
Review and process plans for subdivisions, lot line adjustments, lot mergers, and certificate of compliance.
Ability to review and interpret easements.
Coordinate civil plan review and revisions with developers, designers of record, contractor and public agency.
Develop and revise maps and civil plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and basic understanding of ArcView GIS system.
Travel locally in the Bay Area region for project site inspection, project meetings with public agency clients and as-needed assignments at public agency office.
Ideal Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in civil engineering or closely related field from an accredited college or university
Project – 5 to 9 years of typical experience performing civil plan check reviews or designing private development projects
Associate – over 10 years of typical experience performing civil plan check reviews or designing private development projects
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California (Associate or higher position)
Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license
Be a team player in a small office environment
