Pakpour Consulting Group served as District Engineer for the Skyline County Water District until it was purchased by the California Water Service Company. In 2004, Pakpour Consulting Group assisted the District in implementing a multi-year capital improvement program to improve its distribution and storage system. After conducting a detailed analysis of the distribution system using hydraulic models, Pakpour Consulting Group developed the Ware Road Water Main Project consisting of installing approximately 2,700 linear feet of new 6, 8, 10 and 12-inch ductile iron pipe to replace older and undersized water mains. The new water main in this area also serves as the only connection between the District’s storage facilities and its source of water.
The project also consisted of installing 7 new fire hydrants, a pressure reducing station and replacing 18 water services. The fire flows in the area increased dramatically after the completion of this project. The alignment of the new water main moved from homeowner backyards to the public right-of-way, increased accessibility for maintenance personnel and reduced the risk of property damage during leaks. Approximately 650 linear feet of the new water main was constructed on State Route 35 (Skyline Boulevard) requiring extensive coordination with the California Department of Transportation.
Pakpour Consulting Group provided complete planning, design and construction management services for the Ware Road Water Main Project.
