Mains 2005 Project - Purissima Hills Water District, CA
![]() |
This project was a joint effort between the Purissima Hills Water District and the Los Altos Hills County Fire District consisting of constructing 3,900 linear feet of 6, 8 and 10-inch ductile iron pipe at 11 different project sites. As part of this project, 9 new fire hydrants were also installed. The Los Altos Hills County Fire District selected the hydrant locations to remedy deficiencies in firefighting coverage. The new ductile iron water mains replaced undersized and aging cast iron and asbestos cement water mains.
As District Engineers for both the Purissima Hills Water District and the Los Altos Hills County Fire District, Pakpour Consulting Group identified these potential water mains along with recommending the interconnection of water mains, which improved system reliability, fire flows and circulation to minimize water quality degradation in the system due to the stagnation of water at dead ends. The majority of the 11 project sites were located in private right-of-way, which required extensive title and easement preparation. Pakpour Consulting Group conducted extensive research of title records and other documents to locate ownership of the roadways. Pakpour Consulting Group also worked closely with residents to ensure the design and construction was as least disruptive as possible.
Pakpour Consulting Group provided complete planning, design and construction management services for the Mains 2005 Project.
