Response times for emergency vehicles driving along Route 29 from the south were longer than desired in order to access the Green Island Industrial Park. Vehicles previously exited Route 29 at Paoli Loop Road, traveled back and underneath Route 29 to Green Island Road while also sharing the road with large semi-trucks.
Pakpour Consulting Group provides on-call engineering services to the City of American Canyon and designed an emergency vehicle crossover between the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 29 allowing direct access to Green Island Road thereby reducing response times. The State of California owns and maintains Route 29 requiring extensive coordination by our design team with the Caltrans Encroachment Permit Department during the design. Having completed numerous Caltrans oversight projects, Pakpour Consulting Group processed the encroachment permit with minimal delay. Our Project Manager also met with the City of American Canyon’s public safety team to ensure the new facilities met their needs.
