Joubin is one of our four founders and has been with us since our inception in 2004. He practically grew up on a construction site which is a wonderful perk (or an advantageous perk) when your father is an architect and developer. His earliest memories are of building stick and mud bridges over irrigation ditches at his grandfather’s farm. He loves seeing things be built, especially infrastructure that his grandchildren may use someday. He chose municipal / public works engineering to combine his love of construction with his passion to provide for my community. He received a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University. He paid for school by working as a construction laborer out of high school. There are takeaways from every job he has had, but this one taught him a lot. Every job on a construction site is important, treat everyone with respect, no matter if you are the one digging the ditch or reading the plans.

When the opportunity arose in 2004 to start a company with his closest friends, it was a no brainer. Collectively the four of them had worked at 11 different companies and public agencies so they knew what they valued most. They started Pakpour Consulting Group so they could work with the clients they wanted and not be hampered by high billing rates, utilization rates, overhead, and all the other things that come with larger firms. Work / life balance was, and continues to be, the cornerstone of our company.  His aspirations were and are grounded: make enough money and have enough time to enjoy what he loves. He is always saying he gets up each morning feeling blessed that he gets to work with some of his closest friends, providing a service he loves, to clients he enjoys working with. During the winters you will find him on the slopes of Lake Tahoe, or wherever else snow is falling, chasing his amazing wife Vahishta, son and daughter down the mountain. They try to chase the snow down to South America during the summers and ski close to 30 days a year. As a family they love to travel and experience the rich cultures of the world. His favorite quote that hangs in his office is: “Of all the books in the world, the best stories are found between the pages of a passport.”
